Cash Connect, Paying it Forward with its 10th Anniversary Celebrations

Reaching out to the underprivileged and those who are in desperate need, is the spirit of the Paying it Forward campaign by Cash Connect Management Solutions, South Africa’s leader in providing cash management solutions to the retail sector. As part of Cash Connect’s 10th Anniversary celebrations, the KwaZulu-Natal branch has chosen the Durban Child and Youth Care Centre as the charity organisation who they would like to support.

According to Susan Holmes, Cash Connect’s KZN branch manager, “It was great to see our KZN team working together and making a positive impact in our community. The Durban Child and Youth Care Centre’s Adopt a Room initiative really inspired us to get hands on and help. Social outreaches like these make you feel good, because you make a difference in the lives of others.”

The Durban Child and Youth Care Centre’s Adopt a Room initiative was launched in 2010. It has given individuals, student groups, companies and service organisations the opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives through volunteering their time, effort and resources in creating special spaces for them.

“Over the years, the Adopt a Room initiative has transformed that which once was old into something new and inviting. The home’s interior has been given a new lease on life which has enabled us to turn the organisation into a place which orphaned and vulnerable children can refer to as a loving home,” says Thina Hlophe, Resource Developer from the Durban Child and Youth Care Centre.

The Care Centre is a home to 74 children and young adults with ages ranging between two to 18 years.

Cash Connect’s KZN team consisted of 16 members who took on the role of painting various rooms at the Centre.

Over and above a full day’s work at the Centre, Cash Connect also donated R3000 to assist with anything the organisation needs.

“The outreach was one of those special days for us. I have a newfound faith in the philosophy behind corporate social responsibility – thank you Cash Connect! The goodwill memories you left us with have enriched and empowered us,” says Hlophe.

It’s been 10 years since Cash Connect entered the South African market with cutting edge technology, a sound understanding of cash risk in the retail space and a passion for service. Cash Connect is passionate about making a difference, especially to those who are less fortunate, and challenges other businesses to also invest in our community.
